Cito Gaston returns to the Blue Jays as their new manager. Cito Gaston is replacing John Gibbons who was fired today. Cito Gaston was manager if the Blue Jays from 1989 - 1997 and was the orchestrator of the club’s back to back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993.

The Blue Jays fired John Gibbons and his coaching staff and replaced them with Cito Gaston as manager, but can Cito Gaston turn the team around? The last place Blue Jays are already 10 1/2 games behind Red Sox. Cito Gaston named new Jays’ manager replacing John Gibbons who was fired as manager on Friday and replaced with Cito Gaston, who led the Jays to led the team to four play-off appearances including back to back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993.

I seriously doubt that Cito Gaston will take the team to the playoffs, but his return will certainly improve team moral which must be in the toilet right now. If you’ve ever played team sports and were on a lst place team, you know what I mean. Just bringing Cito Gaston in as manager will improve things in the Blue Jays dugout. Cito Gaston will be under a lot of pressure since he is the Cito Gaston that led the charge to world series championship for the Jays. I wich Cito Gaston a lot of luck in his manager role and hope he at least makes it interesting for the Jays fans. Good luck Cito Gaston.
