Another crane collapse is currently being reported at the New Dallas Cowboys Stadium which is under construction. Injuries were reported but it is not known yet how bad the crane collapse is. Dallas News is on the story and has provided the following information at this point:

Three people were injured Thursday afternoon after a crane accident at the new Cowboys stadium construction site in Arlington.

The three were transported to local hospitals. The accident was reported about 2 p.m.

No more details were immediately available.

The accident comes a day after a construction worker killed in Dallas when a hook snapped off a crane at a construction project behind the Stoneleigh Hotel.

Omar Wray, 37, of Irving, was killed at a construction site on Maple Avenue in Dallas when he was struck by the crane’s hook. He was employed by TXI of Dallas.

The incident occurred after Mr. Wray and a co-worker had dumped cement into a bucket that was attached to a crane to be moved, said Maurice Osborn, a TXI spokesman. “They had completed that process and the drivers were preparing the truck to leave the site.”

Work is concluding on the retractable roof stadium in anticipation of the 2009 football season and will also be the home of th 2011 Super Bowl. When it is completed it will the be world’s largest column free room. More news on the Dallas Cowboys Stadium accident and crane collapse will be forthcoming.

Update - One critically injured in crane collapse accident in Arlington, TX. Taken to area hospital. MSNBC reported that a cable snapped causing the crane to collapse.

There should be tougher regulations on cranes and construction equipment so accidents like this don’t happen.
