Iron Lung Woman’ Diane Odell died today after a Power outage at her home. The Iron Lung enabled her to breathe and without power, the Iron Lung stopped functioning. Iron Lungs are also known as Negative Pressure Generators. The family tried to get emergency generators to power the Iron Lung but they could not keep Diane Odell breathing.
Emergency crews were called to the scene, but they were also unable to keep her breathing
Diane Odell has been confined to her Iron Lung since she was three years old. She was diagnosed with Polio at the age of three and has been confined to the Iron Lung ever since. Diane Odell lived in Tennessee, about 80 miles north of Memphis.
